You’ve probably heard people say that email marketing is dead, that it’s too old school and not an effective marketing tool anymore. Well, they’re wrong. According to HubSpot, 76% of marketers use email more today than they did 3 years ago.
The numbers don’t lie
Email is alive and kicking. Let’s take a look at some more numbers from HubSpot that back this up, shall we?
- More than 4.3 billion email accounts send 196 billion emails every…single…day. Everyone from teenagers to grandpas have an email account these days!
- 91% of people who have an email account check it daily. I bet this is true for you, too! Like me, you probably start your day by checking your work email (and personal email) while you have your morning coffee. And then your work email is probably checked constantly throughout the day.
- 77% of consumers prefer receiving marketing communications via email. Meaning they can view the messages they want, when they want. Unlike other marketing channels that bombard you with messages, whether you want to see them or not.
So as you can see, you probably shouldn’t be planning the funeral for email. I know what you’re thinking, “So a lot of people use email? That doesn’t necessarily make it a valuable marketing tool.”
Why email is a valuable marketing tool
Because it is very easy to personalize!
Content management software makes it easy to personalize nearly every aspect of an email campaign. From the little things like adding a recipients name to an email; to big things like sending content to specific groups based on their interests and activity on your website.
Why is personalization so important? Because it allows you to build relationships and trust with potential customers, one day turning them into a lead.
