As the new year approaches, you’re going to want to make sure you take full advantage of all the features available within your HubSpot portal that can assist you as we all look forward towards our 2023 efforts.
Use Data Analysis tools and Set Goals based on the Previous Year
HubSpot is exceptional for its ability to track and report data – and you should be jumping at the opportunity to utilize it if you’re already a HubSpot partner. HubSpot tracks everything you would want to know about your email campaigns, social media posts, website and landing pages, ads, forms, CTAs, and any other content hosted on your HubSpot portal.
If you explore around in your HubSpot portal, nearly every major feature in HubSpot has an ‘Analyze’ tab – whether it’s emails, social, ads, etc. This section is made for easy access to reporting for a specific feature in your portal. The Analzye tab is designed to be friendly for even those of us who are less tech savvy and provides a simple, smooth experience for everyone else as well.
As an example, I’m going to take a look at what the data for social posting in HubSpot Marketing Hub is capable of and how it can assist you as we move into the new year.
HubSpot makes filtering for the data you’re looking for extremely easy and is front and center on the platform. In the social hub, you can filter by account, date range, and campaigns. As we move into the new year, the date range tool is helpful to give a snapshot of how your channels have been performing year over year. You can also use this data to set targets for posting and engagement numbers in the new year.
You do have to put in a bit more work to tell HubSpot what data you’re filtering for – but part of that is because HubSpot provides thorough and expansive options of data you can filter for. This table is an example of everything you can filter for in the social hub but every feature has its own unique metrics.
|Audience||Social Network Followers||The Audience report shows your current number of followers, compared to the number you had in the previous time period, for each of your connected social accounts.|
|Published Posts||Published social posts||The Published Posts report shows the number of social posts that were published across your social accounts within the selected time period. This will also include posts that were published to your connected social accounts outside of HubSpot if this is selected in your social account settings.|
|Interactions||Social Network Interactions||The Interactions report shows the number of likes, reactions (Facebook), and comments on your social posts published anywhere on your connected accounts. This will also include posts that were published to your connected social accounts outside of HubSpot if this is selected in your social account settings.|
|Clicks||Clicks on social posts published through HubSpot||The Clicks report shows the number of clicks on social posts published through HubSpot. HubSpot can only track clicks for social posts published through HubSpot, as these posts use shortened link URLs to track clicks.|
|Shares||Social post shares and retweets||The Shares report shows the number of published social posts that were shared, including Twitter retweets.|
|Impressions||Views on your social posts||The Impressions report shows the number of views that social posts received on your LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram company pages.|
|Sessions||Web sessions from your social posts||The Sessions report shows the number of web sessions on your site that took place within the selected time period that came from social media. From either HubSpot-hosted web pages, or web pages that have your HubSpot tracking code installed). Social posts that drove these sessions could have been published at any time, and from any social source.|
For example, if a third party publishes a Twitter post containing a link to your site, any clicks on that link will result in web sessions which will appear in the Sessions report.
|New Contacts||New contacts created from web sessions from your social posts||The New Contacts report shows the number of new contacts created in HubSpot as a result of web sessions driven by social media within the selected time period.|
|Top Posts||Top performing social posts||The Top Posts report shows a list of your top ten performing posts. You can see an overview of each post’s interactions, clicks, shares, and impressions.|
Schedule Social Posts in HubSpot using the Content Calendar
Another great way you can utilize HubSpot to make sure you are prepared for the new year is the content calendar. The content calendar provides fantastic visual feedback for whether you have filled out your social media accounts adequately and correctly.
Posts are separated by social platforms and have icons for all the major platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and more. Every post shows an icon of the platform it’s coming from, the account that the post is going out on if you have multiple accounts, and what time the post is going out. All of this is designed to be super easy to take a glance and get the big picture but also has all the relevant information you need to look for smaller mistakes in your posting schedule.
Consider a New Year Email, Social, and Ad Campaign
With everyone fresh and active in their inboxes after the holidays, the new year is the perfect time to run a campaign to help your business flourish. Consider running flash sales or exclusive offers in this competitive time.
But since most people take time off around Christmas and the New Year, it can be hard to walk into the new year prepared. If you create and automate a campaign ahead of time like an email campaign and schedule that campaign to launch on a specific date – you don’t have to worry about rushing to get things done when you return from your holiday.
The new year is also a great time to be sentimental and establish or re-establish who you are as a brand on the market. If you’re interested in telling the story of your brand to a wider audience, consider options like Facebook sequence ads. But the options are endless for the tactics you can use this time of year, you just need to act.
